Seo Technology Helps To Find Your Niche Market Monday, Oct 20 2008

The only thing more fun than using search engine optimization technologies is the preliminary search for your niche market.

Though you’ll probably depending on your business never stop looking for new niche markets to tap into search engine optimization is all about tapping into those niche markets and monetizing them generate money of giving information away and point people to the right products that there are a looking for.

When it comes to seo technologies we are in no short supply of information on this particular niche. Of all the niche is you should learn first they should be one.

When we really look at the search engines it’s like a huge spiderweb or a map, or for more simplicity let’s just say a big puzzle.

The thing about the World Wide Web is that there are billions and billions of pieces out there each piece being its own website.

Nobody can possibly go through every single website to find what they’re looking for every time they need something and this is where the search engine comes in.

For the search engine to be efficient and bring people what they’re looking for, a new website has to be built a certain way to make it easier for the search engines to serve up the right information.

Using seo technologies and help from webmasters and building websites certain way these two things become possible and everybody wins.

Calling All Carbon-Based Lifeforms Wednesday, Aug 27 2008

Many businesses want to market to all carbon-based life forms. They won’t take the time to really understand their audiences from geographic, demographic and psychographic perspectives.

Marketers waste a lot of time and money when they consider everyone a prospect. It requires research and a lot of thought, but for my money one of the most important elements to marketing success is clearly defining your audiences.

Geography allows you to target locations more finitely by country, state, city, neighborhood, and telephone number. You can target digital locations by knowing Internet service provider and email service information.

Demographics helps you define audiences by such elements as age, gender, marital status, race, employment status, industry, income, education, household size, market size, job function, intent to purchase, lifestyle-related habits and geographic location.

Once you have your geographic and demographic information, you can put your marketing on steroids by adding psychographic information such as personality and emotionally based behavior linked to purchase choices. Psychographic qualities you might consider include buying history, similar or related product and service interest, and activities, or hobbies.

Demographics help you identify people who might need your product or service, while psychographics help you identify those who need and desire it.

Having finely targeted your audiences in this fashion makes it easier for you to “clone” your best customers, and make the most of your limited marketing resources.

Love Notes: Three Arenas of Love Wednesday, Aug 27 2008

We learn many things growing up - some of them are useful, and some get us into
messes we can’t figure out. For many of us, the journey to healthy loving
relationships started out upside down and backwards. We learned to focus our
attention on other people before we knew and loved our own self. The truth is that
never works. There are three arenas that require our attention not just one. Those
three arenas are self, source and then others. Here is what they look like:

Self: This is your unique identity, your personality, all that you consider yourself to
be.

If you don’t know yourself as an individual what really do you have to share with
someone else? Part of the joy that occurs when we interact with others comes when
we feel that someone really “gets us.” They seem to know who we really are. We feel
understood, appreciated and accepted. This is so much more likely to happen when
we “get” ourselves first.

Source: This is your true essence - beyond your personality self.

Connection with source energy replenishes and reminds us that we are all made of
the same stuff, and that stuff is essentially good, wise and loving. Remembering this
about ourselves makes it more likely that we will recognize others as magnificent
expressions of source energy also. When we turn our attention inward and relax our
personality selves we gain access to our core essence qualities. Things like joy,
wisdom, freedom, creativity, and power exist as potentials inside all of us. These
core qualities are not unique to us, but are shared with everyone and are available
when we choose to contact them and call them forward. When we take time to know
our own source energy we are more prepared to see the same essential goodness in
others.

Others: This is where the juiciness of our human interactions takes place - with
others.

Others includes the ones who push our buttons, the ones who attract us and the
ones who repel us too. The beauty of real love is that in loving others we are
enriched ourselves. When we enjoy the personalities of others, and celebrate their
essential qualities we feel expanded and enhanced. This is so much more likely to
occur when we take the time to get right with our own selves first.

Connecting from self delights us and assures that we will have genuine connections
with others.

Connecting from source unites us, uplifts us and assures that our relationships will
not stagnate but instead with expand and grow.

Connecting with others fulfills us.

Why leave any of it out?

7 Tips to Make Public Speaking Easier Thursday, Aug 21 2008

A survey was recently taken showing that the top fear is public speaking. The fear of death was later on down the list. Do you know what that means? It means most people would rather die that speak in public!

How about you ? How do you feel about public speaking?

Having coached thousands of people in the last 30 years , I can assure you that there is hope. Many of my clients were terrified of speaking in front of a group of people, then as they learned the 7 Tips they start to relax and even become exceptional at public speaking. I remember one client in particular who did such an about face, that by the end of the coaching, she decided to become a professional speaker!

Now you can learn the 7 Tips:

Tip 1: Normalize your fear. In other words, be aware that just about everyone shares this fear. It is normal in our society.

Tip2. Remember that your thoughts create your reality. If you tell yourself , ” I am a terrible public speaker,” then you’ll become that which you think.

Tip 3. Remember to visualize how you want to see yourself being. How would you ideally like to feel when speaking in front of people? Would you like to be calm and relaxed? Start visualizing yourself as a calm and relaxed speaker, and step inside of the picture and feel the feelings as if they are happening right now.

Tip 4. Give your self a positive verbal suggestion, such as “I am a calm, confident, dynamic public speaker.” I personally used that one and within a short period of time I became what I affirmed.

Tip 5. Ask yourself why you are afraid? Did a negative episode happen in your life where you where ridiculed or judged? If so, a part of you decided, ” I’ll never do that again.” It became your survival strategy. Healing that wound will require that you ask the scared part what it would need to feel safe. A client of mine, the other day said just that to her scared part . It became clear that her scared part would only be willing to speak up if it was being heard by a friendly, supportive audience, where mistakes were allowed.

Tip 6. Find a person who will listen with support and encouragement, like a coach or a mentor. Then role play with that person until you feel comfortable speaking.

Tip 7. Speak from your heart. Realize that your speaking is a gift.
It is benefitting the listener. Become passionate about what you say . Focus on them, not you. This is about them and what you have to give to them.

A personal note: at one point I was nervous about public speaking. I followed all of the suggestions that I mentioned above. In addition, whenever I speak, I carry some 3×5 cards in my hand with sufficient notes. That way I know that if I get lost or distracted , I have something to bring me back on track.

Vacation Homes Are Becoming A Reality For More Homeowners Wednesday, Aug 20 2008

Whether it’s a lakefront cottage or a log cabin in the woods, a vacation home often seems to be a dream that only the wealthy can afford. But these days, you don’t have to be a millionaire to own one.

A nationwide survey shows the median household income of second-home owners is $46,500. With today’s continued low interest rates, the tax advantages a second home can bring, and a wide selection of areas experiencing solid home price appreciation, this is an excellent time to consider purchasing a second home as an investment - and a great getaway place.

When searching for your second home, remember to investigate the area thoroughly. Ask a Realtor® and the local chamber of commerce to provide information packets, maps and brochures. Take time to visit the area several times - a few months prior to and during its peak season(s). Are the crowds unbearable? Is the weather unpredictable?

Speak with a local Realtor regarding current and past home prices. Knowing the area’s sales history will help determine the market value of the homes and effectively predict their appreciation potential.

Once you’ve settled on a community, work with a Realtor and lending institution to determine how much home you can afford. Drive around the town and its neighborhoods. Experience the day-to-day activity around potential properties. Keep in mind you may decide to retire to the area one day. Will the property serve two purposes - that of vacation and retirement home? More and more Americans are purchasing vacation properties in areas where they plan to eventually retire.

Remember, vacation homes remain a good investment and provide substantial deductions on yearly tax forms if they meet certain criteria. As the laws are ever-changing, complex and detailed, consult your real estate agent, who will usually work with a tax attorney or certified accountant, to calculate the tax benefits of owning a second home.

Relaxing in your own home in that dream vacation spot is not out of your reach. More and more Americans are realizing that owning a vacation home is do-able - not to mention a good investment and a peaceful retreat for years to come.

Cold Calling, Techniques, and Tips, for Building a Business Tuesday, Aug 19 2008

If you’ve been involved in business for any length of time at all, you’ve probably been introduced to the concept of Cold Calling. Is Cold Calling a waste of time, or is it a viable method of building a business from the ground up?

First, let’s examine how successful businesses work. Have you ever received a Cold call from Bill Gates trying to get you to buy software?

I didn’t think so, yet, he is an extremely successful business owner, despite the fact that he doesn’t set on the phone all day Cold Calling, Prospecting, and Recruiting new customers and clients.

To be successful in your business, you need to think like a successful business owner. You need a high performance marketing and promotion strategy. This will allow you to generate your own leads rather than buying those worthless generic lead lists that the majority of the online lead generators are selling.

If you’ve ever tried using a Cold Calling script on a batch of leads that you purchased, you’ll know what a waste of time Cold Calling can be.

When you generate your own real time targeted leads, they are requesting information from you directly. They already have an interest in what you have to offer, and they will be glad to hear from you when you call them.

You see, this is not a cold lead list. These are leads that are coming to you. Your not chasing them and trying to pitch them on anything. This is the power of calling a list of warm leads that want to talk to you.

Building your own lead generation system is not as difficult as it may seem. In fact, just about anyone can generate their own leads in virtually any business or industry. You simply need to follow a step-by-step plan, implement a business success system, and start building your business like the professionals do. You can actually receive a simple guide to Lead Generation at www.MentorMindSet.com.

Think like a professional, act like a professional, and build your business like a professional. The results will come when you take consistent action and sincerely believe in what you do.

Mars Rover Lighting and Power Friday, Aug 15 2008

A major component of any piece of NASA exploration equipment is the power plant and charging system. The Mars Rover like any other rover design has had issues with solar panels getting dirty and low battery levels. At one point it had to wait to charge and was having issues due to Marian fine sand covering the solar cells. Then suddenly it started working again. Why? Well some believe a dust devil came along and cleaned it? Whatever the real reason it is now running again fine and has outlasted all expectations of tenure on its mission.

We need better ways to conserve energy, better batteries and more efficient motors. That is the quest to refine these tele-robotic systems to do more with less. We must conserve energy for drilling into rocks, using robotic arms to collect samples, mobility of rover, communication, video cameras, computer processors and of course lighting. If we can delete some of these power hungry systems, we can provide our exploratory vehicles with advantages, which will be needed in future rovers.

The rovers we will be sending to moons or other planets will be cruising on the surface and motor over bumps. I propose we use these bumps to up the lights using electromagnetic induction technology, which will charge a capacitor instead of the headlights working off a battery. Currently there are some nifty micro-flashlights being used which you can buy which use a similar technique and are available thanks to the Everlite Flashlight technology research lab. These smaller flashlights work by shaking them for about thirty seconds and shine for about 6 minutes and they shine quite bright since they use a very bright LED light. Here is a link to this home use flashlight:

http://demo.physics.uiuc.edu/LectDemo/scripts/demo_descript.idc?DemoID=1138

Here is a quick movie you can watch online to see how this technology works.

http://www.modernoutpost.com/gear/movies/ee_forever.MPG

If these rover lights grow dim from too smooth of a surface or perfectly paved roads, yah, we wish, we don’t even have those on Earth, then the system would revert back to the battery. Perhaps this is a good way to save the battery juice? Think on this.

Can You Hail a Taxi Cab in Ann Arbor Michigan? Wednesday, Aug 13 2008

Can you hail a taxi cab in Ann Arbor and on the University of Michigan campus?

Yes you can.

Is it easy to do? Not always.

Most of the taxi cab business done in the Ann Arbor area is by phone request. So if you see a taxi cab driving down a street in Ann Arbor without any passengers chances are that cab is on the way to pick up a passenger who called. But not always.

You may have to try a few times to find an available taxi cab that will stop for you if you hail them. But the easiest way to find an available taxi without calling a cab on the phone is to go to a near by taxi cab stand.

Available taxi cab drivers will wait at city designated taxi cab stands or in front or near popular bars and restaurants.

The best way to get a taxi cab in Ann Arbor is to call one. And if you are planning on going out on the week-ends during a home football game or if you are planning on staying out until the bars close you may want to bring a list of a few taxi cabs companies, trust me we’ll be very busy.

If you don’t have a list of taxi cab companies in Ann Arbor you can use my list!

A Spring Wedding Monday, Aug 11 2008

Spring is seen as the start of a new year and provides a wonderfully appropriate backdrop for weddings. Spring Weddings symbolize the start of a new life together for the bride and groom. Depending on where you are living, the flowers will be blooming and the new buds will be appearing on trees giving everyone a fresh feeling after the dreary winter months.

Although a Spring Wedding can be symbolically wonderful there is always the chance of some spring showers so it is best to plan your spring wedding with a wet weather plan built in.

Depending on where you live this may not be a problem but for many the chance of some light showers is very real. For some the chance of a torrential downpour may also be an issue.

The weather should not be allowed to spoil your spring wedding and so large umbrellas at the ready and a willing helper to hold them over the bride and groom and the day will carry on regardless.

If you had planned on an outdoor setting for the ceremony then checking with a venue close by if they can also provide you with facilities is the best idea.

Photographs look just as wonderful inside as they do outside so look to your photographer for advice there. It may be that a break in the rain will enable a few pictures to be snapped outside.

Your guests may be a little damp when they get to the reception but ensuring there is a cloackroom where they can discard their wet outer wear will help.

Whatever the day brings and whatever happens with the weather if you have planned for a few different scenarios then you will be able to enjoy your day.

Wishing you sunshine and a happy day………….

The Knowledge Broker & How to Speed up ERP Selections Tuesday, Aug 5 2008

Think about the following project to initiate. A company is to select a new software system; for example an Enterprise Resource Planning, or ERP system.

Finding ERP suppliers is not that hard. Internet is a willing environment to organize this preliminary step in the selection process. Then (or before) you need some requirements and selection criteria. In the next step you should filter the initial group to a shortlist of high potentials.

Both in the initial long-list phase as in the next sequence with the short-list, you need to match your demand characteristics with those of the suppliers. The challenge pops up in asking the (right) questions - this is usually done in a Request for Information (RFI) or in a later stage the Request For Proposal (RFP). This is the challenge to set the questions up in a form that all participants understand the same format.

This is a knowledge management problem. You request information, but behind this information is a huge amount of knowledge hidden. Even if you ask the suppliers to draw some pictures you are not able to compare these. All picture, models and schemes are most of the time proprietary.

The solution…

The solution is to direct to an independent third party. This could be an independent advisor, not offering (software) solutions.

The external advisor is to prepare a format in which not only the most essential information is gathered (from the suppliers), but also the essential (explicit) knowledge behind it.
The demanding company could still setup its own requirements. The management advisor — in the role of knowledge broker — is to translate these requirements to a universal (not proprietary) form and have the suppliers respond to it.

The Benefits…

  • objective and independent advice
  • scalable: the advice could be up to any level of detail
  • It takes care that all participants (including the initiating company) provide accurate information.
  • reducing time and (other) resources
